Dr. Mark Viner, MD

Mark Viner, MD, is a Board-Certified private practice Psychiatrist in Reno, Nevada. Born and raised in Hollywood, California, he attended USC. He earned his MD from Spartan Health Sciences University in St. Lucia, West Indies, then completed internal medicine internship at Yale and psychiatry residency at University of Connecticut.  Dr. Viner served as a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and staff psychiatrist at the State Mental Hospital, then at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and staff psychiatrist at State Mental Hospitals in both Las Vegas and Reno. He received the NAMI Exemplary Psychiatrist Award, twice. He participated in FDA clinical trials and Speaker’s bureau for several pharmaceutical companies.  His published works include the book, Suicide, and articles in numerous psychiatric journals. He hopes to bridge the gap between psychiatry and medical cannabis. Since 2016, Mark likes participating in local, state and federal cannabis related programs.
