Cannabinoid treatment for the symptoms of autism spectrum disorder

Key Findings:  Current data suggest a trend towards the benefit of cannabidiol (CBD) and CBD-rich extracts in managing core and behavioral deficits in autism spectrum disorders (ASD) with high safety and tolerability. However, higher-quality placebo-controlled trials should be concluded before considering CBD treatment for ASD.
