PRIMARY STUDY

Enhancement of Anandamide-Mediated Endocannabinoid Signaling Corrects Autism-Related Social Impairment

Key Findings:  This mouse study of behavioral changes in a model of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) found that increased levels of anandamide via CB1 receptors improved social impairments and may present a future therapeutic target in the treatment of ASD by inhibiting fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH).
