PRIMARY STUDY

Cannabinoids and the Endocannabinoid System in Lower Urinary Tract Function and Dysfunction

Key Findings:  The reviewer suggests endocannabinoid system (ECS) involvement via activation of complex pathways in the regulation of bladder function. While the complete mechanisms, such as CB receptor site involvement, are yet to be understood the amplification of ECS activity by FAAH inhibitors that enhance the bioavailability of anandamide may offer novel targets in treating LUTS.
