PRIMARY STUDY

The prognostic significance of pro-BNP and heart failure in acute pulmonary embolism: A systematic review

Key Findings:  N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and Heart-type Fatty Acid Binding Proteins (H-FABP) could provide important prognostic information in individuals at risk of pulmonary embolism. NT-proBNP was highly predictive of all-cause death and could potentially identify pulmonary embolism patients with at risk of worse prognoses.
