Cafeteria Diet Abstinence Induces Depressive Behavior and Disrupts Endocannabinoid Signaling in Dopaminergic Areas: A Preclinical Study

Key Findings:  In mice abstinence from a cafeteria diet was linked to neuroadaptive changes in monoamines and endocannabinoid signaling in brain areas partaking to dopamine transmission. These changes could partially be restored by the enhancement of endocannabinoid signaling through fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) inhibition.
