Acute kidney injury after using contrast during cardiac catheterization in children with heart disease

Key Findings:  In children undergoing cardiac catheterization using contrast urine liver-type fatty acid-binding protein (L-FABP) levels correlated to acute kidney injury, and could be useful biomarkers for detecting kidney compromise before cardiac surgery.
