PRIMARY STUDY

Association between cannabis use with urological cancers: A population-based cohort study and a mendelian randomization study in the UK biobank

Key Findings:  In a large UK Biobank cohort of over 150,000 individuals, prior cannabis use was associated with a lower incidence of renal cell carcinoma and prostate cancer. A reduced risk of bladder cancer and renal cell carcinoma was observed in females, but not males. No significant association was found between cannabis use and testicular cancer. While Mendelian randomization suggested a potential causal link for reduced renal cell carcinoma risk, findings remain observational and should be interpreted cautiously.
