PRIMARY STUDY

A remote brief intervention plus social media messaging for cannabis use among emerging adults: A pilot randomized controlled trial in emergency department patients

Key Findings:  Young adults aged 18-25 who use cannabis regularly, received either motivational interviewing-based interventions (BI) and 4 weeks of health coaching on private social media versus the control group who received a resource brochure and entertaining social media messaging. Results found social media messaging paired with BI was acceptable. Further research is warranted.
