PRIMARY STUDY

Targeting anandamide metabolism rescues core and associated autistic-like symptoms in rats prenatally exposed to valproic acid

Key Findings:  Resulting data indicates that abnormalities in anandamide activity may underlie the deleterious impact of environmental risk factors on ASD-relevant behaviors. As such, modulating components of the ECS may represent a novel therapeutic target mechanism for primary and associated symptoms common to this patient population.
