PRIMARY STUDY

Inhibitory effect of cannabichromene, a major non-psychotropic cannabinoid extracted from Cannabis sativa, on inflammation-induced hypermotility in mice

Key Findings:  In this study of mice intestinal inflammation and hypermobility found that the endocannabinoid plays a role in this process and that cannabichromene (CBC) reduced inflammation and was not dependent on the cannabinoid receptors or TRPA1

Type of Study:  Animal Study

Study Result:  Positive

Cannabinoids Studied:  Cannabichromene (CBC), Anandamide (AEA), 2-Arachidonoyl Glycerol (2-AG), Monoacylglycerol Lipase (MAGL), Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA)

Phytocannabinoid Source:  Unspecified

Receptors Studied:  CB1, CB2, TRPA1, CB1 antagonist, CB2 antagonist
