Sensory gating in tobacco-naïve cannabis users is unaffected by acute nicotine administration

Key Findings:  This study examined the effects of nicotine in on cannabis users and the risk of developing psychotic and cognitive impairments. They concluded that there was no difference in sensory gating with nicotine compared to placebo cannabis, and acute nicotine administration did not appear to impact sensory gating function. There is a relationship between cannabis use and gating impairment.
