PRIMARY STUDY

Beneficial effects of olmesartan and temocapril on urinary liver-type fatty acid-binding protein levels in normotensive patients with immunoglobin A nephropathy

Key Findings:  Compared to health controls, normotensive patients with immunoglobin A nephropathy had higher levels of liver-type fatty acid-binding protein (L-FABP) and 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) and a combination therapy of an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) plus an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI) had a greater benefit on renal function.
