Key Findings:  Patients who developed acute kidney injury (AKI) following cardiac surgery were evaluated for levels of L-type fatty acid-binding protein (L-FABP) in their urine. Results suggest that L-FABP and N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase (NAG) accurately detected AKI and could improve upon currently available predictive biomarkers.
