PRIMARY STUDY

Kidney Damage and Stress Biomarkers for Early Identification of Drug-Induced Kidney Injury: A Systematic Review

Key Findings:  This literature search finds several biomarkers that are potentially useful predictors of drug-induced AKI (DIAKI): β2-microglobulin (B2M), interleukin (IL)-18, kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1), liver-type fatty acid-binding protein (L-FABP), neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-2 * insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 7 [TIMP-1]*[IGFBP-7].
