Safety and Efficacy of Medical Cannabis in Autism Spectrum Disorder Compared with Commonly Used Medications

Key Findings:  The current literature suggests there may be a therapeutic use for medical cannabidiol-rich cannabis in the treatment of many of the symptoms of autism spectrum disorders, especially irritability. However, there need to be more long-term and placebo-controlled trials evaluating the safety and efficacy in this population.
