Key Findings:  Overall, N-acetylcysteine (NAC) treatment appears to be safe and tolerable. There was a favorable response in several psychiatric and neurological disorders. current evidence does not support the use of NAC in gambling, methamphetamine and nicotine addictions and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
